Here are some interesting tidbits I
found while researching Barbados.
You can watch Barbados Olympians compete
in swimming and track and field events at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Who are some well-known Americans of Barbadian descent? LL Cool J, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Eric
Holder.

Despite its British history, Barbados
was originally settled and named by the Portuguese, who left to continue
exploring Brazil 84 years before the British arrived.
Barbados is the only country outside the
U.S. that our first president, George Washington, ever visited. He traveled
there with his brother, who was convalescing, in 1751.
